The loving and nurturing Mai and Nasr are growing into retirement together; both literally and metaphorically. They’ve decided to dedicate time and energy to nurturing their proximal environment and passion for plants. The pair tends to an ever-expanding collection of herbs and house plants. According to season, Mai and Nasr migrate many members of their plant family outdoors. Plants are either moved temporarily in containers to the back deck or transplanted annually into raised beds. There is a plant tending station indoors and a free-standing greenhouse next to the deck, which the couple frequents with the same dedication they would to their immediate family.
Accessibility to planting stations, tools, raised-beds and all herbaceous species is essential. Mai and Nasr expressed interest in water catchment systems for watering plants, increasing their quantity and variety of culinary herbs, abundantly expanding ornamental plantings which bring them joy, as well as increasing plant species that attract hummingbirds and birds they relish in observing.
